A Trip To The Emergency Room.

I decided to stop by a new thrift store this afternoon. (This is the store run by TARC, and I hear that an area of the store is set up for their candies, jams, etc.) With Ava in her stroller, we went in, and I looked for some work shirts for Chad. I wanted to look for some dresses for Ava, but Logan had a different thought - he wanted to play with the toys. (Since there are breakables, I was hesitant, but let him play in the kitchen set for a minute.) I was unsure of the fact that we were the only people in the store, and that Logan was making noise with the kitchen's phone, pots, pans, etc - those poor employees that put up with the noise for those five or ten minutes I was shopping!

Without buying anything, I decided it was time to go home. We were walking to the van, which was in the next parking lot, two stores over. I was pushing the stroller, and I told Logan to hold on to the side (like he is always supposed to do!). He ran to catch up, and tripped on the stroller wheel, falling to the ground and hitting his head on the corner of the cement. Immediately, I saw the blood.
.
I hurried as fast as I could, or as fast as you can with a stroller, into the tanning salon we were walking past. (Of course Logan was screaming and crying, and I know he had to scare the crap out of some lady tanning quietly in her bed!) The employees asked me what happened, and I explained that he fell and hit the corner. Blood was dripping on the floor - pouring from his eyebrow. I asked for paper towels, and the employee handed me some, then came back with nice, clean white towels. I could see the cut was deep, and it was starting to swell. At that point, I asked for ice, which they didn't have. (Ava was just sitting quietly in her stroller, she was wonderful!) The employee brought me a first aid kit, and I told her I was going to have to take Logan to the Emergency Room. I wiped the floor of blood, then offered to sanitize with Clorox and I was told no, that the employee would clean it for me! (She was very helpful!) I thanked them, and we left.
.
We get to Terrebonne General. (I know I said in the past that I would never go back, but this was an EMERGENCY. It would have taken 30 minutes to get to Thibodaux!) My Mom was going to meet me there, so she could watch Ava. (Chad was in Texas.)
.
The wait time wasn't that long, I think we waited for 30 minutes. (I could have gone to Thibodaux afterall.) Logan was brought to the back, where they cleaned the cut and applied a sterile super glue. (I was told they try not to use stitches on the face because then you get the scar from the wound and the scar from the stitches.) He was so good during the procedure. The nurses explained everything they were doing to him, and answered all of his questions. He never cried and left with lots of stickers!
