Happy Mother's Day.

We decided to go to Cleburne State Park for part of my Mother's Day weekend. It would be nice to spend time with friends, bring Logan and Ava to go fishing, and maybe go swimming.

Saturday morning, we packed the truck. We packed fishing poles, some snacks, an ice chest, some drinks, medicine, chairs, swimsuits, extra clothes, towels, and worms.

We arrived at the park, and found our friends Mel, Chad, Dawn and Patrick (who were staying at the park for the weekend). Logan and Ava were excited to see Aiden, Bryson, Mia and Blaise. It was nice to sit outside by the fire and relax. No clothes to do (or think of doing), no dishes to wash (or think of washing). Nothing to do but relax.

The Dads took the children fishing. (Since Ava wanted to go, I went, too.) We sat by the water for some time, but nothing was biting. I was hoping that someone, anyone would catch a fish - just to show Ava. No one did. It was still a great experience.

After fishing, we walked over to the lake, where I let Logan put his feet in the water. Well, before you knew it, Ava was asking to go swim. Chad took her in, and she loved it! (She cried when she got out because she had to go potty - but it's nice to know that she won't just go in the water! Of course, after she pottied, she went back in.)

After everyone changed, we ate dinner then made smores, which I am sure was the highlight of Logan's trip! Logan and Ava loved them!

Sunday morning, Logan and Ava woke me up (at 11:30 AM) with each a beautiful boquet of flowers. Chad gave me a yummy cookie cake and a card. We ate a late lunch at a Chinese Restaurant, then came home to take naps and relax some more, before getting ready for the week ahead. It was the perfect weekend.
