Finally.

Today Chad called and said that he had received an official word, and we needed to decide if we wanted to accept the offer.

The job in Houma was his, but as easy as that was said, it was followed by "but they are cutting my pay and I will lose the company truck". What do we do? Of course there would be lots of cut backs, and I believe we can handle it, but why both at once? It's bad enough that we will still have to pay this $1500 house note....now we have to add gas and insurance to the list of bills, too....doesn't Devin understand that? ;)

Pros and Cons. We discussed it. Option 1: Move to LA. Option 2: Move to Kilgore. Option 3: Quit working for Devin and look for something in Fort Worth.

Option 1:
Pro: We can all be together. We have family there. We can move in with my Mom and Dad until this house sells, and avoid paying two house notes.
Con: How long will it take to sell this house? Who will watch over it while we're in LA? Extra expense as now we have to hire someone to care for the lawn.

Option 2:
Pro: We can be together.
Con: If we move to Kilgore, TX, we have to pay two house notes until this house sells, which is why we never moved there to begin with.

Option 3:
Pro: We can stay here and avoid moving. We love it here.
Con: Will Chad find another job? He has been working for Devin for 10 years, do we want to start over? What if he doesn't find anything soon?

We chose Option 1.

The move has to take place fast because I want Logan starting school on time, with the other children. I can't and won't expect a teacher to 'cater' to Logan because he's 'new', if we enroll him late. He will be in Kindergarten and this is a big transition for him. He needs to learn the rules just as every other student. In Louisiana, Kindergarten starts on August 14. Since July 31 has always been my deadline for moving, Chad presented it to the company. It was agreed that he will be present at work in Houma on August 5.

It's hard to think that in less than two weeks, we will be in Louisiana.
