There is a song I recently heard. It's called "If Today Was Your Last Day", and is sung by Nickleback. I heard it at the perfect time, like it was sent to me. Of course it made me cry.
This past Friday when Chad came home, he said, "We need to talk." I blew hard. What could be going on? I sat down. He said he was tired of being 3 hours away from us, and scared that something would happen to me, and him not be able to get here to help. He is tired of living in a 15 foot camper (who could blame him), and tired of being away from Logan and Ava. The list goes on.
He was faced with a decision to make. A big one. Do we move to his current location in Texas, do we move back to Louisiana, or does he quit working for Devin and find something out of Fort Worth? We discussed our options.
We decided that on Monday, he would go to work and lay it on the table. Basically, we need someone to buy our house and we would be willing to move back to Louisiana, assuming he would not get a huge reduction in pay. (Because Logan will be starting school soon and the baby is due in September, my deadline has always been July 31. We still have a week. In Louisiana, he would start school on August 17.) We both decided that we would not move again. This will be the last time. It's time to settle.
Monday, with no clue how his bosses would handle the decision, he told them what we needed. I had to hold my own hands all day, in order for me not to pick up the phone to find out what they said. Finally, at 12pm, I called Chad. He hadn't heard from anyone. He would call after lunch.
That afternoon, the offer was laid out.
Tuesday morning, he was told the bosses took a trip to Louisiana. Still, they didn't give Chad an official word.
It's Tuesday afternoon, and all I can think about is getting boxes to start packing. Not yet. We don't know what's going to happen or how soon the move could or would take place.
I will wait until Wednesday afternoon to get totes and boxes. I can't do much, but I can do something.
There are so many things Logan is looking forward to while we are in Burleson. He wants Aiden, Jon, Mia and Nate to go to his 5th Birthday Party. He wants the party to be at The Splash Pad. We have talked to him about moving, and he is all for it. He wants to move right next to Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw so he can go over anytime he wants and we don't have to drive him there.
I'm probably getting ahead of myself. We don't know. Yet. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.
